Lyocell is a regenerated cellulose fibre, extruded into smooth, continuous threads rather than the wood pulp construction of traditional paper filters.
Engineered with a precision 3D weaving structure, its unique micro-pattern regulates the movement of fines, allowing a controlled amount of ultra-fines to pass through, which enhances mouthfeel while maintaining a clean, balanced cup.

Flow rate of up to 42% faster than conventional paper filters unlocks finer grind settings, higher extractions and shorter brew times. Grinding finer raises extraction, and because the bed does not stall, brews with long contact time that pulls bitterness are avoided.

Lyocell's smooth, continuous threads minimise the surface area for lipid adhesion, where conventional paper's wood pulp fibres carry a microscopic surface fuzz that catches oils instead. Since lipids carry aromatic compounds, more pass through, and the brew retains more aroma, more intensity and more lasting flavour expression.
Enhanced mouthfeel
The lyocell weave in every HIFLUX filter is precisely manufactured to allow micro-particles under 20 micrometers to pass through, giving even light roasts texture and weight.
